IDSwest Opens in Vancouver Thursday!

IDSwest opens in just three days and the excitement is building over the design pros, presenters and exhibitors who will celebrate the best in interior design beginning Thursday September 29th and running until Sunday, October 2nd. From IKEA to Molo, pillows to paint and couches to kitchens, IDSwest will host some of the brightest stars of the design world to Vancouver.

The L41 220 sqft home will delight even the small space cynic with its smart design and incredible functionality. Designed to be a mass-produced, state-of-the-art house, the L41 is poised to become part of the important group of affordable designs such as the $2,500 Tata car.

I love lookbooks and catalogues don't you? Sometimes they have the coolest decorating tricks! Toast's new Autumn Winter 2011 House and Home Catalogue just launched today with heaps of ideas and I thought I'd highlight some favourite products and the cool decorating tricks that go with them today.  (Above photo: Aldreth Pajama Top + Bottom).  Cool Decorating Trick? Have you seen this wire version of the balloon and string pendant around yet?  It was made by a  Orlando Soria who is the design assistant to Emily Henderson of Secrets from a Stylist and was made for one of their episodes a few months back. I like it as an alternative to the balloon and string idea and he's even posted the how-to on his site here. (Via The Happy Home).

Saturday's Wedding

Keeping with our new Saturday's Wedding tradition (we got a little off track there for a few weeks), today we bring you a fairytale Ottawa wedding produced by Marry Me Productions. What swept me with this wedding was the bride's hair, isn't it gorgeous?  And her one-of-a-kind Vera Wang dress.   The wedding took place at the Canadian Museum of Civilization which overlooks the City of Ottawa, a perfect setting for their out-of-town guests.  Visit Style Me Pretty for all the beautiful images and details of this elegant affair.
